May include measuring, cutting, assembling, and bolting structural framing and solar modules. In this role, you will be part of a crew that is responsible for installing solar systems on residential homes.Job Responsibilities:Work with a team to install the racking system and solar panels on residential roofsStructurally mount racking and electrical equipment and effectively seal penetrationsPerform routine photovoltaic (PV) system maintenance on modules, arrays, batteries, power conditioning equipment, safety systems, structural systems, weather sealing, or balance of systems equipmentEnsure proper job documentation is completed once the job installation concludesInteract with customers, answer and direct questions as neededRead and review blueprints and plan documentsInstall racking systems and modules, run conduit and wiring on roofsApply weather seal, such as pipe flashings and sealants, to roof penetrations and structural devicesConfigure electrical wiring of the solar system (AC and DC) per plans and local codes.Test operation or functionality of completed workStructurally mount racking and electrical equipment and effectively seal penetrationsDemonstrate knowledge of OSHA standards related to photovoltaic installations and enforce safety practices and standardsCertified OSHA/OSHA10/30 preferredAssisting with other duties as assigned by Crew Lead and/or Regional Operations ManagerRequired Qualifications:Education Requirements:Must be at least 18 years of age.High school diploma or equivalent, or Technical/trade school training in solar or electrical systems is preferred.Required Skills:1 year of residential solar experienceAbility to safely handle power tools and materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsAbility to perform all installation duties of the Installer and Lead InstallerElectrical/PV Installation Knowledge: Working knowledge of current NEC codes. Ability to interpret single-line drawings and PV systems from roof to meter.Demonstrates knowledge of electrical principles as it pertains to solar interconnection/tie-in and code and how PV systems operate.Understands interconnection activities.
